As one might imagine, cataloging ghosts and hauntings  by state is a big job.  With the world as old as it is and with tragedies and deaths every single day on virtually every street corner at some point in time, the world is a haunted place indeed.

Our purpose for this section is therefore not to catalog every single ghost story that ever happened in every state, but to try to collect the best and the most well-documented cases and include travel directions and instructions on how to experience them and what to look for when you get there.  If we cannot verify any particular story in several other places, we do not include it on these pages.   Hopefully, this strategy will eventually lead to a comprehensive catalog of the greatest haunted sites in the United States, with all the information necessary for our readers to experience them on their own if they are so inclined.

Obviously, we have our personal favorites, which include the Whaley House in California, the Bell Witch area in Tennessee, Point Lookout in Maryland, Bachelor's Grove Cemetery in Illinois, Gettysburg in Pennsylvania, Chickamauga in Georgia.  and of course, Sedona in Arizona, to name just a few.   Our goal at this point in time is to find at least one good haunting in every state and then build more from there.  As you can see, we are not quite finished with that goal at this time, and if you have information on a haunting, especially in one of the states not yet linked, we would love to hear it for possible inclusion in this section.  Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy what we already have, and if you have had a personal experience with any of these places, we would love to hear about that too.
